Brodsky Defends Peterson, Encourages 'Enjoyment' for Married Client

Suggested "Win a Date with Drew" radio contest by Brodsky takes the lawyer blunder top honor

Joel Brodsky
"If she's entitled to be out there with another man, he's entitled to have some enjoyment in his life, too." - Attorney Joel Brodsky

Worst defense attorney move ever just may well be the one made by the lawyer for alleged serial wife killer, Drew Peterson. Attorney Joel Brodsky and Peterson called WJMK-FM morning show host Steve Dahl and proposed the "Win a Date with Drew" game earlier this week.

Peterson, as you may recall, is suspected in the disappearance of his fourth wife and has caused another look at the bathtub "accidental death" drowning death of his third wife.

Nevermind that Peterson shows zero concern for the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, whose case police call a possible homicide. Forget that Peterson has toyed with the media spotlight ever since the 23-year-old mother of his two children has been missing, and simply saying she ran off with another man. What kind of lawyer would defend this creep?

I'll tell you what kind. The kind that turns out to be just as creepy as his client.

This from NewsSunOnline.com:

Hours after radio host Steve Dahl agreed to the suggestion by Joel Brodsky, the attorney for former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, WJMK-FM officials said the game would not take place.

"Steve never intended on doing this promotion or any promotion that would put his listeners in harm's way," station vice president/general manager Peter Bowen said in a prepared statement. "The dating game idea was conceived by Peterson and Brodsky, not by Steve Dahl or anyone else at the radio station."

OK. So radio host Steve Dahl is a little creepy, too. But This Week's Top Scrooge goes to Joel Brodsky.

It's his (alleged) murder and he'll play as he want to
Brodsky defended his client's planned participation in the radio show, saying that Peterson didn't do anything wrong and that he believes his wife just ran off with someone else.

"If she's entitled to be out there with another man, he's entitled to have some enjoyment in his life, too," Brodsky said.

Celebrity and creep defender chimes in
"It is still the mother of your children, and she's missing," defense attorney Mark Geragos said. "Besides being a bad idea for the criminal case, it's in incredibly poor taste."

Last add
Daniel Bibb, a private attorney who handled high-profile cases when he was a prosecutor in New York, also couldn't believe that Peterson was willing to participate in the competition.

"If I'm a prosecutor I'm salivating now. If I'm his attorney, I'm ready to commit suicide. I'm ready to quit," Bibb said.

Quit indeed...something Brodsky probably has no gumption to do...he's too creepy.

Offend Atheists 101: Simply Recommend Church

Colorado School District Sued for Listing Religious Activities as One of ‘40 Developmental Assets’

This Week’s Top Scrooge - October 19, 2007

It’s funny how your conscience works. For example, your friend could say to you, “Maybe you should go to the gym.” The next thing you do is say, “Why are you calling me fat?”

You don’t say, “Thanks for the recommendation!” Instead, you go to a therapist and tell them you feel offended and alienated. You say you are thinking about filing a lawsuit against your friend because you don’t believe in exercise and yet he or she violated your right to believe in a no-exercise lifestyle.

“How dare they recommend something that may possibly be good for me!”

Such is the case with an atheist family in Colorado who is suing the Cherry Creek School District. Only it’s not about the district recommending excercise, it’s about suggesting as one of 40 ways to help students be successful that they spend “one or more hours per week in activities in a religious institution.”

Funny how our conscious works.

Monster.com hacked; users exposed to 'file ransom'

Internet hacking on a grand scale.

Hackers Hold Monster.com Users' Files Hostage

Hundreds of thousands of people, mostly in the U.S., have been exposed to the risk of file ransom after the Web site of the world's largest online recruiter was hacked.

Personal details stored on Monster.com, a Web site that lists job seekers and job opportunities, were taken after a raid by hackers who posed as employers to gain access to the site.

Having stolen the information, hackers e-mailed the victims claiming to have infected their computers with a virus and threatening to delete files unless demands for payment were met.

Duct Tape Replaces Ski Mask For Robber's Disguise of Choice

In the "going-to-great-lengths" crime department...this just in!

AP:

ASHLAND, Ky. — Laughter might be unexpected in a liquor store where a robbery just occurred.

But that's how employees responded to the "Duct Tape Bandit" who hit Shamrock Liquors in Ashland and fled nearly empty handed.

A man who had his head wrapped in duct tape to conceal his identity walked into the store last Friday, Ashland police said.

Store manager Bill Steele had some duct tape of his own, but his was wrapped around a wooden club that sent the robber fleeing, according to a report by WSAZ-TV in Huntington, W.Va.

Flowers lawsuit? Dial 1-800-ADULTER-Y

Denial takes the form of a lawsuit against 1-800-FLOWERS. Fess up man! You goofed...now get right with God! Not much sympathy here for a man blaming a florist company for the exposition of his affair.

Note to Lindsay: 'denial' is not a river in Egypt

This Week’s Top Scrooge - July 27, 2007

Confession of sins doesn't come easy for some, even when the sins are staring you straight in the face.

Case in point, actress Lindsay Lohan, accused of drunken driving and cocaine possession after her second arrest in a month, has denied she was taking drugs. Not only has she denied taking drugs, she has denied she drove the car in which the now-famous car chase took place.

Just before Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Tuesday morning, she commandeered a car and took three men hostage -- this, according to the three men who were in the car with her. I viewed the testimony of the three men at TMZ.com and the dudes account of the evening seems credible.
