Obama says he inherited bad humor from Bush

Obama cracks Special Olympics 'joke' on Leno show

This from Associated Press:

BURBANK, Calif. — President Barack Obama might have rolled a gutter ball on NBC's "The Tonight Show."

Toward the end of the interview on Thursday, Obama told host Jay Leno he's been practicing at the White House's bowling alley but wasn't happy with his score of 129.

Leno complimented Obama on the score, but the president quipped, "It was like the Special Olympics or something," which prompted laughter from the audience.

Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the president's offhand remark was not meant to disparage the Special Olympics, only to poke some fun at the commander-in-chief's bowling skills......

Not "meant to disparage the Special Olympics?"

How about not meant to be inconsiderate of people who are mentally handicapped and who are seen as stars by their families while they make efforts to perform to the best of their physical abilities?

Oh, wait, this just in...Obama supporters say the president inherited the mentally handicapped people problem from the Bush administration.

The president's supporters went on to say that humor that isn't humorous was also inherited from the Bush administration.

Question: Do you think it was good strategery for Obama to go on Leno?

Condoms Are a Bust!

This from Concerned Women for America:

Record High Teen Pregnancy and Record High Money for Comprehensive Sex Education

WASHINGTON -- (Christian Newswire) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released 2007 data today reporting that the number of teen births is at a record high.

Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of Concerned Women for America's (CWA) Beverly LaHaye Institute, asks, "When over two-thirds of public schools (68 percent) teach comprehensive sex education and those programs receive more than four times the amount of federal funding than the amount designated for abstinence programs, it's time to ask Dr. Phil's question, 'How's that working for you?'"

Crouse declares, "The focus on condoms is obviously not working. When leftist ideology leaves so many of our teens pregnant, parents must speak out to the nation's policymakers to demand that our vulnerable young people have the opportunity to hear the truth.

Abstinence until marriage is possible and it is desirable. Abstinence programs teach our teenagers self-control and help them gain self-respect. They learn how to say 'no' and they learn to set goals for a bright and promising future."

"Most teens want to get married and have children," said Crouse. "They don't want to short-circuit their potential. Most of the teens that have sex tell pollsters later that they wish that they had waited. If given the opportunity, those teens can learn how to be in control of their future and realize their goals and dreams.

Those who tell teens to surrender to their raging hormones as long as they are protected by a condom ought to be there when that teenage girl has to tell her parents that she is pregnant and that her boyfriend is long gone."

Crouse concluded, "Everybody needs to call their Members of Congress to express outrage at the amount of money going to Planned Parenthood and other groups that are promoting comprehensive sex education and spreading falsehoods about the effectiveness of abstinence programs. We need to quit funding groups who give out false information that leaves our teens vulnerable in ways that affect the rest of their lives."

Ward Churchill: Ich bin ein Nut Job!

Ward Churchill

*BREAKING NEWS: COURT COVERAGE OF HISTORY REVISIONIST, WARD CHURCHILL, FOUND ON THE RACE TO THE BOTTOM BLOG

Brief recap:

BOULDER, Colo. - A professor scorned for remarks about Sept. 11 victims vowed that his firing over allegations of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct wouldn't end his 2-year dispute with the University of Colorado.

"New game, new game," said a defiant Ward Churchill, referring to his intent to sue the university after the state Board of Regents voted 8-1 Tuesday to remove him as ethnic studies chairman.

Three faculty committees had accused Churchill of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct in portions of his research. The allegations were unrelated to an essay he wrote that likened some victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks to a Nazi leader.

David Lane, Churchill's attorney, said his client's dismissal simply marks a change in venue for the dispute.

"We're out of kangaroo court and going into real court," he said.

Eva Longoria Parker Helps Test Rule No. 5

Testing...testing...1...2...3!

Ever so shyly I place Eva Longoria Parker here, waiting for the accusations of sex ism, inappropriateness, and overall debauchery. I wince and go ahead, cut and paste, import and upload. After all, it's about hits...isn't it!?

Oh, I'll just blame it on some slightly tweaked conservative.

Having promised an appropriate celebration of passing the 1-million-visitors Site Meter threshold Friday, I will do so by sharing the secret of my success.

After a quick read, I hastily focused on Rule No. 5. In part it says:

5. Christina Hendricks

Or Anne Hathaway or Natalie Portman or Sarah Palin bikini pics. Rule 5 actually combines four separate principles of blogospheric success:

A. Everybody loves a pretty girl -- It's not just guys who enjoy staring at pictures of hotties. If you've ever picked up Cosmo or Glamour, you realize that chicks enjoy looking at pretty girls, too. (NTTAWWT.) Maybe it's the vicious catty she-thinks-she's-all-that factor, or the schadenfreude of watching a human trainwreck like Britney Spears, but no one can argue that celebrity babes generate traffic. Over at Conservative Grapevine, the most popular links are always the bikini pictures. And try as I might to make "logical arguments" for tax cuts, wouldn't you rather watch Michelle Lee Muccio make those arguments?

Be sure to read B, C, D, and E as well as the rest of this worthwhile post. Seriously, there is some good stuff in there...as well as having some fun with it!

Meanwhile, I have to go pray!
